Asynchronous Thread Per Core Architecture in C++
Kafka is a distributed event stream platform originally developed by Apache. Redpanda offers an alternative implementation in C++ with massive performance gains. The Redpanda Team will be sharing some of the magic behind how they were able to achieve the performance they have and the lessons learned from this endeavor.
About the Speaker:
Andrew Wong is a software engineer at Redpanda, where he works on the storage team. He also currently serves as PMC Chair for Apache Kudu at Apache Software Foundation. Prior to Redpanda he held various engineering roles at Cloudera. Andrew has both a Bachelors degree and a Masters in computer science from UCLA.
