Join us for our 4th annual beer stroll. Yes, a beer stroll - not a beer crawl - because we always drink responsibly and plan to stay upright, right?!? This year we are going to a cluster of breweries where Platt Park, Overland, and Wash Park intersect.

5 hours of day drinking may sound like a lot - and you're right! Please do not feel like you need to join us for all 5 stops. In fact, it will help with crowd management at these venues if our group numbers are more fluid. So come for the first part and leave early, come later and stay until the end, come to just one stop, come to one stop and stay there with other folks if you really enjoy that spot, skip a stop so you can have more time at your favorite spot. Or come for the whole thing!

You are all adults but here are some common sense suggestions:

  • Bring a water vessel that you can refill throughout the stroll. And a good best practice is to drink at least one glass of water for every glass of beer you have.
  • Bring comfy shoes and - assuming it's a nice, summer day - sun protection (hat, sunscreen, etc.)
  • Come well-fed or, put differently, don't start drinking on an empty stomach. That being said, several of our stops do serve food.
  • Be mindful of your ABV percentages and your serving sizes. My recommendation for lasting longer is smaller pours (10oz or less) and less-boozy beers (6% ABV or lower).
  • Take public transportation or an Uber/Lyft. It's the safe thing to do, plus you won't have to worry about parking or backtracking to your car at the end.

Reminders:

  1. Feel free to bring others and encourage them to join this Meetup. It'll make it easier for them to hear about upcoming events and to RSVP.
  2. Be respectful and welcoming to all members. The organizer reserves the right to remove any member from the group who doesn't play well with others.
  3. Similarly, be respectful to the organizer - only RSVP if you are truly coming and make your best effort to give as much advance notice as possible if you need to cancel. This also helps anyone on the Waitlist get a chance to come. And if you're a no-show 3 times, you will be removed from the group.
  4. Be smart when drinking alcohol and safe getting home.
  5. Events are free and you pay for your own beer. Buying a beer for the organizer is encouraged!
