CRAFTIVISM: Crafting, Activism, & Community

What is CRAFTIVISM? 
Craftivism = Crafting + Activism + Community Building

As our co-leader, Lisa, says, "The thing that will save us in a crisis is Authentic Community."

We keep 3 goals in mind for every gathering:

1. Look Inside to discover and articulate what we Stand FOR, not just against. 

2. Produce Inspiring Pieces that can uplift others to Keep Their Lights On for the long haul of real change.

3. Build Strong Bonds through crafting shoulder-to-shoulder together, and sharing our Lived Experiences authentically.

What will we do at each meeting? 
1. Practice creating "Brave Space" together, because not every space is "safe space", but we still have to practice speaking up with courage. 

2. Hear the ripple effects of what small intentional actions are creating around town and around the world.

3. Make a Craftivism project together, and add your voice to the ripple of change! All skill-levels are welcome, and you'll walk away knowing you contributed.

4. "Share & Declare" - once you've experienced this, we want to hear what you are inspired to do next.

Craftivism is a movement that has been going on since the 70s, but it is usually been practiced in isolation - crafters at home, making art in protest. But our group hopes to change that. We believe Craftivism is most impactful when practiced together in community. Let's get some color, some yarn, and some hot glue, and see what we can create together!

If you can, please bring Venmo or a $10-20 donation (unless you are a WEE Giving Group member), and we'll take care of the supplies and set-up.

You are welcome to participate at a level that suits you - we support that! You'll get no pressure from us to "do more" or do any particular activity. This is about YOU finding ways that you can sustainably spend your energy where you choose.
