About us
Looking for a regular, friendly space to keep your creative practice going?
You're in the right place.
Create Together is a community of writers who meet online twice a week to put our heads down and actually get the work done. Whether you're drafting your first novel, editing a manuscript that's been sitting in a drawer, researching, or just brainstorming, this is your space to show up and create alongside others doing the same.
What makes this group different:
- It's quiet. We type a quick hello, write silently together for an hour, then check in afterwards. No critiques, no workshopping, no pressure to share. It's introvert-friendly!
- It's regular. Two sessions a week (Tuesday and Sunday nights, Sydney time) so you can build a rhythm. Come to one, both, or whichever fits your week.
- It's judgement-free. What you work on is up to you. You never have to share what you're writing. We're here to keep each other company on the creative journey.
- It builds accountability. The accountability comes from showing up, and we're here to cheer you on.
Who it's for: Anyone who wants company while they create. We've got hobbyist writers, published authors, screenwriters, poets, students, people working on their first novel and people working on their twentieth. Some come every week. Some drop in when they need a nudge. All are welcome.
How it works: We meet online via Slack (it's free and easy to join — the link comes through once you RSVP). You bring whatever you're working on. We chat briefly (typed), write together for an hour, and chat briefly again afterwards. That's it.
If a regular, focused hour of writing, with friendly faces in the virtual background. If this sounds like what your creative practice needs, come along. We'd love to have you!

Tuesday Writing Sprints (Online)
·OnlineOnlineShow up, type quietly, leave with words.
Want to make a dent in your word count this week?
Bring whatever you're working on—novel, short story, screenplay, blog post, the article you've been avoiding—and write alongside us. No sharing required! The format (Sydney time):
- 7:20pm – 7:30pm: quick typed hello
- 7:30pm – 8:30pm: heads down, write
- 8:30pm – 8:45pm: typed wrap-up chat
We meet online via Slack (the group is called "Write Together Tuesdays"). RSVP here on Meetup and you'll get the join link.
The only rule during our hour is that we don't chat—we let each other work. Afterwards, hang around if you'd like to swap notes on how you went, what you're reading, or what's giving you grief this week. We're a friendly bunch. If Tuesdays don't suit, we run a Sunday night session too—come to either, or both.
See you (virtually) on Tuesday.
Happy writing, JackieP.S. New to Slack? It's a free chat app, separate from Meetup. Once you RSVP, the join link appears on the right-hand side of this page. If you get stuck, Slack's help centre has you covered.
