Doing More Good For Animals

Liberation BC is excited to announce that Animal Advocacy Camp is back and registration is open (http://aac2013.eventbrite.com/)!

Join your fellow activists for two days of learning about taking effective action for animals. You all have valuable skills, experiences, and ideas. By working and learning together you can build a stronger community of animal advocates and make a greater difference in the lives of animals. Animal Advocacy Camp is a practical, attendee-led event, where YOU get to set the agenda and host discussions about what YOU want to talk about.

-Share your stories, ideas, and experiences.
-Learn from the experiences of others.
-Discover the wealth of resources available
-Host powerful dialogues about issues and strategies.
-Create and strengthen relationships.
-Become a stronger and more effective advocate for animals.

The format of the event will be Open Space, meaning that the attendees (that means you) will set the agenda at the beginning of the day. Anyone can propose a session for the event.

For instance, some potential topics may be:

-Storytelling (stories about outreach, best experiences, worst experiences, horrible mistakes, etc)
-Discussions on tactics
-Discussions about topics (fur, factory farming, etc)
-How to talk to the public
-Individual actions
-How can groups work better together
-Historical precedents

There is a lot of room for discussion within the framework of this event. We all can learn a lot from each other. This is a great opportunity to tap into the collective knowledge of many other experienced people in your community. Bring along your tough problems, questions you've been struggling to answer, problems you've been trying to solve.

The event will be held at the UBC.
