Rejection Gym: Fear of Rejection? Let's Overcome Fear of Rejection Together

Details
Did you ever think you’d go to an event to get rejected? Hear me out. For a lot of us, even a perceived “no” can trigger the urge to run, hide, or shrink. The only way to change that reflex is reps: safe, small, repeatable reps.
Rejection Gym gives you those reps in a low-stakes, consent-first space. You’ll practice hearing “no,” notice what it stirs up, and learn to stay steady. Over time, the sting fades, your recovery speeds up, and your asks get clearer. That pays off in sales, dating, networking, pitching ideas, and setting boundaries.
Think of this as a workout... but for your courage. Each “no” today makes the next one feel lighter tomorrow.
What it is:
Rejection Gym is a playful, low-stakes workshop where we practice getting rejected on purpose in safe, supportive ways. This time, we will keep it within the group so you can experiment freely without pressure.
Why are we doing it?
For many of us, especially those with RSD or everyday nerves, hearing “no” can feel heavier than it really is. Like any muscle, acceptance gets easier the more you practice.
When I lived in LA, my friends and I would go out and make small, harmless requests, hoping for a no, just to build resilience. It worked. That is the spirit of this event: rejection does not define us, it strengthens us.
💸 Cost: FREE (ah well, it might cost you a “no” or two… but that’s the point 😉)
If you had a good time and want to share the love:
- Drop a note on the gratitude wall (still free, just gives me warm fuzzies)
- Grab a Color Me GVL coloring book (for yourself or someone who loves Greenville) or share it with someone who you think will love it.
When and Where:
When: Monday, Oct 13: 6:30pm
Where: Southern Side Brewing - 25 Delano Dr Unit D, Greenville, SC 29601
How you find us: There will be sign!
If you have difficulty finding us, text my Google Number at 424.625.9884 to find the group.
What to expect:
- Listening Warm-Up – Practicing the art of letting someone talk without interrupting.
- Rejection Workout – Try out fun, small requests designed to get a “no” (totally optional and always consent-first).
- Reflection and Connection – Share how it felt, what surprised you, and laugh at the awkwardness together.
✨ If there’s interest, next time we may take this into the real world and try requests with strangers, but for now we’re keeping it cozy and in-group.
What to Bring:
- An open mind (and a sense of humor helps too)
- Comfortable clothes for moving around
- Optional: a notebook for reflections
🙌 No experience needed. Just show up, be real, and practice turning rejection into resilience.
