What we're about

Calling all designers of Tokyo!!
UX, UI, graphic design, creatives of all kinds! Come hang out with likeminded others!

This is a group to make friends and ultimately brainstorm/hack away on stuff together! We'll start out with dinners or drinks together (pay for yourself), and maybe shift to doing hackathons or design thinking sessions. Maybe we'll have feedback sessions and lessons later too! For the most part, this will be based on what you guys want to do.

We built a space for you! Join us here: https://creativetokyo.com/

■Why I created this group

I'm making this mainly because I want more designer friends (let's be creative together!! super fun, I promise). I'm also working on a startup idea to bring likeminded folks together, so I'd love to develop the idea more by getting feedback from you guys!

■Language

Mainly English + Japanese

■Rules

Be nice! and don't come here to just sell your wares or recruit for Amway. Keep your MLMs at home, guys. Thanks!

Hi, I'm Hitomi. I'm a UX designer/front-end dev/entrepreneur from Boston, born in Japan but raised in the US! I don't have a lot of designer friends out here in Tokyo so I thought I'd start a group myself. I think it'd be awesome to do some team-based creativity stuff, as I've had some amazing experiences at some meetups back at home in Boston. I speak both English and Japanese, so if you need help with anything in Tokyo, feel free to reach out. :)

Hitomi

■ What's TED Circles?

TED Circles is an open community of small groups that meet for conversations about big ideas. It’s a new TED initiative where volunteer hosts invite friends, neighbors, strangers, or a mix - many who've never attended TED or TEDx events - to discuss a variety of interesting topics. It’s a great chance to learn new things and meet new people so I’m seeking new people to ensure we have a variety of voices included in this conversation! You can learn more on the webpage and in this animated video.

Designer Hangout Online! Meet, Share Your Work, and Get Feedback

Hey everyone, we hope you're staying safe! Here's another round of sharing what you're working on.

We'll meet on Zoom, split up into groups of 3-4, get chummy, and share what we're working on, then rotate. ~25 min x 2-3 rotations.

Use this chance to get some quick unbiased feedback, meet fellow designers, and spice up your quarantine life. 🏡👍
