If you’re the mastermind behind HBO’s How To with John Wilson, you attend a workshop on pitching Hallmark movies, then apply all the same best practices to your own film: an in-depth investigation of concrete.

With his first feature, Wilson continues his methodology of starting with a straight-forward idea and using it as a jumping off point for absurd and entertaining detours, asides, and digressions. Wilson’s infectious sense of inquiry and laudable desire to retain his artistic freedom in defiance of the powers-that-be guides it all.

We'll meet for drinks and dinner at 5:00 at the Campus Gateway Cazuela's Mexican Cantina. We'll then attend the 6:30 PM show next door at the Gateway Film Center. You’re also welcome to join us for just dinner or just the movie.
