Hike Nerstrand Woods

Hike Nerstrand Woods. Meet at 10 a.m. at the Visitor Center at Nerstrand Big Woods State Park {south of Northfield}, 9700 170th Street East, Nerstrand, MN 55053. Start wildflower walk at 10:15 a.m. This is a great place to view spring wildflowers in Minnesota and one of the few places to view the endangered dwarf trout lily. Some of us may take on a longer hike after wildflower viewing, but we’ll all meet back at the picnic area for lunch. Bring water, snacks, lunch, layered clothing, hiking boots, and poles. Sometimes the trails can be wet and muddy. A State Park sticker is required -- $35 annual or $7 daily. Purchase before you arrive because of poor cell service at the park.
