Hey there! đź‘‹

We’re a group of Gen Z’ers who started a Christian book club to make friends and explore faith, life, and great reads together. We meet on Friday nights.

In The Sacred Search, Gary Thomas challenges us to think beyond finding a "soul mate" and to look for a "sole mate"--someone who will walk with them on their spiritual journey. Turning conventional dating wisdom upside-down, Thomas asks: What if there’s no such thing as "the one"--there's something even better in God's plan? What if being "in love" isn't a good enough reason to get married?

The Sacred Search casts a vision for building a relationship around a shared spiritual mission--and making a marriage with eternity at its heart. Join us on Friday as our Crossroads group explores how dating should be a spiritual journey rather than an emotional pursuit, as we challenge cultural assumptions about romance with biblical discernment.

đź“– When: 7:00 PM, Friday, May 1
📍 Where: Barnes & Noble in Vernon Hills

Come as you are! Unlike most book clubs, no advance reading is required. Each week we'll provide a summary sheet of the reading so even newcomers can easily jump in and join the discussion.

Our gatherings are relaxed and conversational. Each session stands on its own, so you can come once or often:

  • Fri 5/8: Walk toward the Music (Chapters 7-8)
  • Fri 5/15: What's Your Style (Chapters 9-10)
  • Fri 5/22: Making a Marriage (Chapters 11)
  • Mon 5/25: Memorial Day BBQ
  • Fri 5/29: Monthly bible study
  • Fri 6/5: Is Anybody In Charge? (Chapters 12-13)
  • Fri 6/12: Crossroads event!

Bring a friend or come on your own. We are meeting at Barnes & Noble (901 N Milwaukee Ave Suite #500) in Vernon Hills. If you have any trouble finding us, feel free to call or text 224-855-0241.

P.S. We’re pretty active on WhatsApp—DM us if you’d like to join our group chat and get to know everyone better! 💬
