[Cryptography Meetup] Just Enough Math to Understand Elliptic Curve Cryptography

Details

Our very first meetup will be a joint meetup with the Bay Area chapter of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP).

----
Title: Just Enough Math to Understand Elliptic Curve Cryptography

Elliptic Curve Cryptography is used in many real world protocols like TLS, SSH, IPsec, Whatsapp, Bitcoin and many more.

Trying to build an understanding of how it works, however, can be fairly daunting for anyone who doesn't have a deep mathematics background. This talk will teach you just enough math needed to understand how the most common Elliptic Curve Cryptography primitives work.

Cryptography Meetup (https://www.meetup.com/Cryptography-Meetup)

The goal of the Cryptography Meetup is to make cryptography more approachable for programmers.

If you’re a programmer looking to explore, understand and build systems that use cryptographic algorithms, come learn with us. If you’re a cryptographer come share your knowledge with implementers.

We’ll start all our discussions & presentations from the basics, without assuming any prior knowledge of complex mathematics or cryptographic primitives.

Bay Area OWASP (https://meetup.com/Bay-Area-OWASP)

Bay Area OWASP group is dedicated to bringing together Bay Area web application security talent and interest in the form of presentations, talks, conferences.
