Crystal Palace Photography Meetup Group

We continue our regular monthly photography meet-up sessions for artists and photographers in South London at the Phoenix Community Center in Crystal Palace. These group sessions are suitable for beginners, emerging talent and intermediate practitioners who wish to expand their photography or lens-based practice. The sessions are led and guided, yet invite self-determination and participation, with a vision for the group to develop its own goals, both personal as well as a group ambition.
Meetings take place usually once per month, on Wednesday evenings 7pm-9pm. Sessions can be booked individually, the fee is 25£ per session. You are eligible for a reduced fee of £20 for a taster session if you join us for the first time. You can join at any point.

This 2-hour introductory session is for you if you are a beginner and would like to get to know your camera and improve your camera skills. We will cover topic such as: Focus, Aperture, Shutterspeed, Depth of Field and Movement Blur. We will learn about the exposure triangle and the visual effects you can produce with manual camera controls. You will gain confidence and a better understanding of key techniques required to create well exposed images and interesting visual effects. You can practice the skills we learn with both digital and analogue cameras.
