Central Station, Gordon Street - proposed reduction of cycle access!

Further to the message below, which I put out yesterday, GoBike has now put out this Consultation Extra, which gives far more information:

Glasgow City Council has a public realm consultation out just now, closing this coming Sunday which is proposing changes to the "public realm" on Gordon Street right outside Central Station.
GoBike, the Strathclyde Cycle Campaign, were not notified of it - probably because it's "public realm", but they did discover it.
They have published this:

"Gordon Street public realm consultation – Glasgow City Council has launched this consultation (deadline Sun 24 Aug)
The proposed design includes making the section of Gordon Street from Hope St to Union St one way eastbound and thus the removal of the current painted cycle lane in front of the station. Do you cycle in this area either to the station or to connect to the westbound cycle lane on Waterloo St?
We have contacted the Council and they have confirmed this is the plan. I looked at this yesterday and it really looks as if they are reducing cycle access in the area! Proposing to make the short protected southbound contraflow lane on Hope St from Gordon St to Waterloo St northbound to allow people to then cycle east on Gordon St. To get to the station from the east it looks suspiciously like cycling 3 sides of a square!
