Hi folks, a lot of our members have asked if there is something we could do to avoid having to take names & contact numbers at the start of every ride (particularly the emergency numbers which aren't always in the human memory!)
So, we're looking to collect your “in case of emergency” contact information once a year and have the data on a spreadsheet. Jane Black (CTC member) will hold the data on a stand-alone personal laptop. The data will be deleted every year and a new request will go out to ensure that the information is accurate. The information will be shared with CTC Ride Leaders so you will not have to hunt out telephone numbers etc at the start of every ride.
It will be your responsibility to advise if any of your contact numbers have changed and also to make the ride leader aware of any medical conditions at the start of each ride (they should ask!)
This is not compulsory as ride leaders can still take your emergency contact on the day, but it will just make the ride registration admin much easier, particularly if we have a cold, wet start!
