The last hurrah before the clocks go back!! The weather looks ok and the ride is relatively sheltered apart from the seaside itself!
The ride will leave Kilmarnock Train Station at 1000 A.M. Train leaves Glasgow Central at 0913 arriving Kilmarnock at 0951 A.M. Anyone travelling by car can also park at Dean's Castle Country Park and cycle the short distance to the train station. We will head out to Irvine on the cycle path and do a loop round country lanes to Troon and return via Irvine cycle path.
The average pace will be moderate - averaging 10-12 mph depending on the group. It's a moderately hilly (approx 1000ft of ascent) circular cycle route, mostly on cycle paths, approximately 41.6 miles long.
