Podemos definir ACALENTO como uma prática do carinho e do afago em ambiente seguro, sóbrio e não-sexualizado.
Cada sessão dura aproximadamente 3 horas e é aberta a todas as pessoas e identidades a partir dos 18 anos. Numa sessão de ACALENTO, procuramos afinar a percepção dos limites e preferências no contacto, ao mesmo tempo que nos confiamos ao potencial restaurador da proximidade corpo a corpo. As acções que procuramos: acarinhar, cuidar, abraçar, aninhar, mimar. Iniciamos com um momento de revisão das regras de interacção; segue-se uma sequência de exercícios que servem de treino para a proximidade e o consentimento; e, por fim, a zona livre, em que é possível a interacção em par, trio ou grupo alargado, privilegiando a experiência táctil e usando a palavra apenas para a expressão do que é ou não é consentido.
Em Portugal, o circuito de cuddle parties é ainda bastante restrito. É minha intenção tornar esta prática mais transversal ‒ criar uma comunidade heterogénea que produza e receba o seu ACALENTO rompendo barreiras de língua, de impossibilidade económica ou outras.

Care | Consent culture | Non-sexual interaction | Sober attendanceACALENTO takes its inspiration from the cuddle party concept originally created in New York some twenty years ago. We can define ACALENTO as a practice of care and tender nurturing in a safe, sober, and non-sexual environment.
Each session runs for approximately 3 hours and is open to every person and identity from the age of 18. In ACALENTO, we seek to fine tune our perception of boundaries and preferences in proximity to others, while at the same time we trust the restorative potential of closeness. The actions we are looking for: to cuddle, to care for, to embrace, to nestle with, to pamper. The session starts with a revision of our common rules; we proceed with exercises that pave the way to proximity and consent; lastly, we delve into the free zone, where everyone is welcome to interact in pairs, trios or larger groups. We privilege tactile experience and use words only to express what we can and cannot consent to.
The cuddle party circuit in Portugal is still niche. It is my intention to make this a more universal practice ‒ to help raise a heterogenous community who will produce and receive their ACALENTO while overcoming linguistic, financial, or other barriers in the process.
The session will be conducted in Portuguese with simultaneous translation into English, if needed.
Participants are requested to undergo a brief phone interview.

The practice is consent-based, which means that each person retains their agency and can freely choose whether or not to interact. Interactions require verbally expressed mutual agreement and must comply with the event rules. Taking breaks and witnessing the practice are also possible ways of being present.

The contribution: optimal: 15e, abundant: 20e. The amount you pay doesn't affect your process, it just makes the price flexible. We have a charity option of 10e contribution; if you're unemployed or facing difficulties, please make sure to let us know in advance.
Coming on time is essential: please plan your arrival for 16:45-17:00. We close doors at 17:10. A cuddle process is focused on providing a caring and safe environment. All guests start the process at the same time, in a structured manner. For this reason, we cannot welcome latecomers.

Do it no later than 24 hours before the event, otherwise we can't guarantee we have enough time to process it. The interview lets us be sure that guests are aware of the rules and know what to expect. This builds a caring setting for the whole event.
