About us
Cultivating CommUUnity is a welcoming gathering space for people across Hendricks County* who want to meet others, try something new, and build genuine community.
Hosted by the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Hendricks County as part of our Caring CommUUnity initiative, our gatherings are open to everyone. You do not need to be a church member, follow a particular belief system, or arrive already knowing someone. We welcome people of all identities, backgrounds, beliefs, and life experiences.
Our free and low-cost gatherings may include game nights, creative activities, meditation and relaxation, movement classes, music, open mic nights, intergenerational events, and other opportunities to connect. Activities are designed to be approachable, informal, and friendly to beginners, with no pressure to perform, commit, or fit into a particular mold.
This is community without the membership pitch. Come as you are, participate at your own comfort level, and help us cultivate a Hendricks County where more people feel connected, respected, and at home.
(*You do NOT need to be a Hendricks County resident to join us!)

Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Hendricks County, 95 N Jefferson St, Danville, IN 46122, USA, Danville, IN, USWarhammer Paint & Prep Day, Saturday, September 26
(Register by clicking here - Not required but helps us have enough tables set up!)Bring your minis, bring your paints, and come hang out with other local gamers while we get ready for our October Warhammer 40K Game Day.
This is a casual, community-focused afternoon for painting, assembling, prepping, and generally making tiny plastic warriors look far more intimidating than they have any right to.Bring your own miniatures and painting supplies. Whether you’re working on a full army, a single model, terrain, or a project that has been sitting half-finished on your desk for six months, you’re welcome at the table.
No expertise required. You do not need to be an amazing painter (...but if you are, we'd love to get some tips and tricks from you!), know all the lore, or even be completely sure what you’re doing.
This is a chance to:
• Work on your own minis alongside other hobbyists
• Swap tips, ideas, and questionable painting advice
• Meet other local Warhammer and tabletop players
• Get some hobby time in without painting alone at home
• Help build excitement for our upcoming Warhammer 40K Game DayThen, on Saturday, October 17, we’ll bring those newly painted war dollies back for our full Warhammer 40K Game Day, featuring lore, painting, beginner-friendly play, and glorious tabletop battle.
Both events are hosted by the growing UUCCHC Gaming Guild at the Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Hendricks County. Sign up for our Gaming mail list here.
You do not need to be a church member or religious to participate. We're not that kind of church! We’re simply building a welcoming space for people to gather, play, create, and find community around the things they enjoy. Come nerd out with us!

Free Laughter Yoga & Sound Bath 1st Mondays
Unitarian Universalist Community Church of Hendricks County, 95 N Jefferson St, Danville, IN 46122, USA, Danville, IN, USDoors open at 6:30pm. Laughter yoga starts promptly at 7pm.
### What Is Laughter Yoga?
First Monday Laughter Yoga and Sound Bath is a monthly ninety minute gathering designed to help people pause, breathe, and reset together. The experience combines gentle laughter-based practices, simple breathwork, and a deeply calming sound bath to support stress relief and emotional well-being.
This is not traditional yoga. There are no poses, no flexibility requirements, and no prior experience needed. If you can breathe, you can participate fully. The focus is on ease, playfulness, and deep rest rather than performance or achievement.
### Why We Are Doing This
We live in a culture that often rewards exhaustion and constant productivity. Many people are carrying stress in their bodies without ever having a chance to release it. This series exists as a gentle counterbalance to that pressure.
Laughter Yoga helps release tension, shift mood, and reconnect us with joy in a simple, accessible way. The sound bath that follows invites the nervous system into deep relaxation, helping the body and mind settle more fully.
Together, these practices offer something many people are missing: a regular, reliable space to rest, reconnect, and remember what it feels like to be at ease in their own bodies.### What to Expect
Participants can expect a relaxed and friendly atmosphere, gentle guidance, and plenty of options to make the experience comfortable. You are welcome to bring a yoga mat if you have one. Loaners are available. Blankets, pillows, and other comfort items are encouraged for the relaxation portion.
The event is free to attend and includes ample parking. To preserve the feeling of ease and connection, participation is capped and advanced sign-up is encouraged to reserve your spot.
### An Invitation
This experience is open to the community. You do not need to be a member of UUCCHC to attend. We welcome our friends and neighbors to join us for this restorative practice. If you are seeking a more balanced way to begin your month, a space where joy and rest are taken seriously, and a community that values care over pressure, this gathering is for you. Come Laugh With Us!
