What we’re about
If you enjoy the arts and expanding your perspective then this may be the group for you! Did you know there are OVER 50 museums in the Detroit Metro area as well as many cultural interests? Join us to enjoy this rich cultural history we have accumulated here over all these years!
We will have an event at least once a month. It will start with a venue throughout a particular museum or other cultural venue, then convene for a dinner or lunch where we can discuss our viewpoints of the art experience we shared.
All viewpoints need to be respected and treated with kindness. Since the host is expecting you and sometimes there are waitlists, we will abide by the common 3 no show rule before you would be considered for suspension.
Participation in finding and hosting events is always welcome so please feel free to know your ideas will be not only be welcome but part of what will make this group grow!
In addition we require a photo of yourself so we can recognize you at events. Do not apply with a generic photo.

Celebrate Detroit's 324th Birthday!!
Founded in 1701 by French explorer Antoine de la Mothe Cadillac, the city of Detroit was under French rule for only sixty years through 1763. Yet its French roots are still present.
This tour explores Detroit's French heritage from Cadillac's landing in 1701 through some of the 19th century buildings still standing as well as 20th and 21st century statues, monuments, and murals remembering the French roots of Detroit. A descendant of one of Cadillac's Convoy, your tour guide will share the history of the French in Detroit as we walk about the heart of downtown Detroit.
The tour meets at 10 am next to the Cadillac Statue just east of the Dodge Fountain in Hart Plaza.
Parking: Metered on-street parking is available on downtown streets within the immediate downtown area. Several parking lots and garages are also located within walking distance.

### Tour Highlights
This year, our Tour will feature 10 locations, varying from garden-only experiences, full-home tours, or combinations of home + garden. This year's highlights include:
- A meticulously restored 1925 Tudor Revival that masterfully blends historic grandeur with modern luxury, featuring exquisite original details like revitalized German silver, soaring beamed ceilings, and custom renovations throughout its expansive multi-level layout. Featured recently in Crain's Detroit Business, this home is truly a show stopper!
- The gardens of the Frank Lloyd Wright Turkel House, a harmonious extension of the home’s iconic modernist design, featuring thoughtfully composed landscapes, native plantings, and serene outdoor spaces that reflect Wright’s vision of organic architecture and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
- The gardens and indoor solarium of a lovingly restored 1921 Dutch Colonial, which offers a lush and elegant retreat, with beautifully manicured landscaping, mature trees, and thoughtfully designed outdoor spaces that complement the home’s classic architecture while providing a serene setting for relaxation and entertaining.
