Hi all - we're back on track! Since we've been meeting over the course of the pandemic we've seen the ebb and flow of policies around how to manage the spread of coronavirus/Covid-19. And, following announcements last weekend by Boris Johnson, it appears the U.K. is now in the "reopening" phase - but what does this mean? There are certainly more cars on the road, but many people are still wary and restaurants and bars still seem far from open. What does it really mean to "reopen," and what are your opinions on how things will go on the ground?
Plus, the role of the E.U. in the pandemic has been interestingly - quiet. Negotiations are ongoing between E.U. countries on how to fund coronavirus rescue grants, with Merkel and Macron springing a surprise united front on the bloc earlier this week. However, it is being opposed by a number of E.U. countries (Austria, Sweden, Denmark and the Netherlands) and the stalemate goes on. What will this mean for the relevance of the E.U. once this passes?
And we're close with some sports talk. The Geman bundesliga is back, but that's about it. When will we watch sports again?
