What we’re about
☕Welcome to Current Events Coffee, a community of news enthusiasts who love to dive deep into the latest events and their impact on our daily lives. Our group holds two meetings every month, with one being a Zoom meeting open to individuals from all over the world, and the other an in-person meeting in Lower Manhattan.
During each meeting, we select several current events and discuss how they reflect broader trends and affect our daily lives. Whether you're an expert or just getting started, we welcome all perspectives and viewpoints. Our goal is to leave each meeting with fresh insights and new information.
With a maximum of 14 participants online and 8 in-person, our discussions are intimate and engaging. We do some light moderation to ensure everyone's views are heard and explored. So join us for a stimulating discussion and a fresh take on current events!

The link will be visible only to people who make the RSVP list, on the event page the day of the meetup. Links are no longer emailed. Check to be sure you've signed into Zoom before clicking on the link.
Online meetings will now begin at 10 a.m. on the second Sunday of each month. We'll always incorporate topic suggestions into an upcoming discussion, so don't be shy.
When online we'll try to accommodate everyone who wants to attend, so sign up for the waitlist even if the event seems full. However; if you don't have a history of attendance, we may ask for email confirmation of your interest. Repeated no-shows may be pushed onto the waitlist the next time the RSVP gets full. Remember to change your RSVP if your plans change.
Please check that you're getting group notifications from meetup, and check the inbox and spam folders associated with your meetup account. Also, whitelist meetup emails with your email service (gmail, outlook, etc.).
