Are you full-figured, fun-loving, friendly, down-to-earth, genuine, and interested in making new female friends?
Curvy Girl Society is a meetup group for plus-sized or curvy ladies that enjoy a variety of activities such as walks on the beach, restaurant and bar outings (to explore drinks and food), board game nights, bowling, movie nights, geeking out, museums and art galleries, craft days, outdoor physical activities, fairs and festivals, quaint discussion gatherings, and more.
I am very open to other ladies hosting and organizing events for the group. In fact, just let me know if you'd love to become an event organizer, have great ideas for the group, and schedule events.
Why is the group plus-sized focused (but not necessarily exclusive)? I think a lot of times, plus-sized women relate to one another as women in a society that might label or see us negatively. We're all still different, of course. We'll have a lot of things to discuss alongside anything that relates to our individual interests and passions.
Please take note of the new anti-flake policy for this group. It will be strictly enforced.
Under each member’s name is a title section. By default, it is usually left blank by an organizer.
The system below is used to keep track of flaking:
If a member flakes ONCE, I will place one “X” in that title spot under their username.
If a member flakes TWICE, I will place two X’s in that title spot, “XX.”
If a member flakes THREE times, I will boot them from the group.
If a booted member wishes to return, they will have to reapply and pay a $10 donation fee to the group. The donation icon is visible on the front page of the group on the left sidebar near group and meetup stats.
This is fair and reasonable, certainly not draconian, because you get a couple of chances to flake.
And before you become a flake, you can always cancel an RSVP in a timely manner to avoid this and to further preserve your two "get out of jail free cards" for real emergencies.
I just want people to respect the time and effort others make to organize and attend events for members.
If you voluntarily sign up to the group, thus becoming a member, which means you WANT to participate in upcoming events, then I figure you can certainly find ways to communicate with the group and its organizer(s) about the status of your RSVPs.
