Happy New Year Customer Success Network! Everyone knows that CS is all about ensuring that customers get measurable value from the products and/or services we provide to them. When we are adding value, adoption is strong, retention just happens, and up-sell / expansion becomes a natural extension of getting more value. In the real world, many of us find that we are sometimes more focused on fighting churn, needing to evangelize our role and function, and managing bad fit customers. How can we focus on value when we get caught up in the day to day of running interference? Yet we all know that adding value to our customers and our company is our main job. During 2019, we will explore how CS adds value in many different ways, not just to our customers but also to our companies. As we kick off our first event for January let’s explore the relationship between Product and CS. Are these two teams the new “couple” in business? Together, do they have the same impact as “Sales and Marketing” teams do? Is there natural friction between the groups?
