Opossum Lake Walk

This is the first walk since the group became Cumberland Valley Nature Walks, and the first with me organizing.
I'm Gary. I'll be the one meeting you. I'll have my 11 yr. old Little Brother with me if you're wondering if any other kids will be there. He's cool. :)
Opossum Lake in Carlisle: a small lake the community saved when the state was ready to drain it, with a shaded trail around the whole thing.
When: Sunday, Sep27th 10:00 AM. We'll leave the lot at 10:10
Where: Main parking lot by the playground and restrooms, Opossum Lake Park, Opossum Lake Rd, Carlisle.
Two ways to walk it. The full loop is 3.6 miles, flat, about an hour and a half at an easy pace. If that's more than you want, come anyway: the walk to the dam and back is 2.4 miles, roughly an hour, and the dam is a natural place to turn around. Pick your distance when you arrive. Nobody's keeping score.
Who it's for. Anyone who'd like to be outside with other people for an hour or two. Kids are welcome. Dogs are welcome on a leash.
Rain or shine. I walk in the rain, so don't let that stop you. Lightning is the only thing that cancels.
Bring: water, shoes you don't mind getting muddy, bug spray for the wetland stretch just in case. It's not a swimming lake. There are pavilions with picnic benches if you'd like to bring lunch.
Pace. Conversational. If you'd rather walk quietly, that's fine too. We stop at benches as needed. If you'd rather walk quietly, that's fine too.
