I created this group to meet other cyclists and cycling advocates. Cross-postings from other groups are welcomed. Cycling advocacy events such as public pannels, AGMs, city advisory committees are also welcomed.

If applicable, please describe in your event what calibre of cyclists should be expected. The following calibres are suggested:
Leasure: 15 to 18 km/h, mostly to recreational pathways
Commuting: 18 to 24: You are comfortable in cycling on the road and can cycle for 2-3 hours
Touring: 24 to 30 km/h, you are comfortable in cycling on the road and have cycled for entire days.
Sporting: 25 km/h +: You have a road bike and have trained competitively.

J'ai créé ce groupe pour rencontrer des cycliste et autres promoteurs du vélo.
Les événements provenant de d'autres groupes meetup sont la bienvenue. Les événements tels que les AGAs, débats publics, les comités consultatifs de la ville sont aussi la bienvenue.
S'il y lieu, veuillez décrire quel est le calibre attendu des cyclistes. Les calibres suivants sont proposés:
Loisir: 15 à 18 km/h, l'événement se tient surtout sur des sentiers de la piste cyclable.
Journalier: Vous êtes confortable sur la route et vous pouvez faire du vélo pour 2-3 heures.
Tourisme: 24 à 30 km/h, vous êtes confortable sur la route et vous avez fait du vélo pour des journées entières.
Sportif: 25 km/h et plus: vous avez un vélo de route et vous avez fait de l’entraînement compétitif.

This is an 86km ride on the side roads. Speeds will average 25 - 30Km/hr normally and slower in the hills. We will stop by the water to take a break at Westport Harbour Island. We will stop at Narrows Locks where they can have a quick stop (about 17 kms from Westport; public washrooms available) before heading back to Perth. Anyone wishing to eat or have a drink afterwards there are a number of patios in Perth.

- Gravel Ride - Arnprior & Renfrew 56km Rail loop67 Meehan St, Arnprior, ON
This is a gravel ride so a hybrid, mountain or gravel bike with larger tires is required.
This route will be approx. 56 kms of mostly loose gravel and stone dust rail trail.This ride starts and ends in Arnprior. We will start on the Ottawa Valley Rail Trail across from the Arnprior Fire Department (67 Meehan St, Arnprior, ON).
Google says this is about a 50 min. drive from the St. Laurent shopping centre in Ottawa, so plan to arrive early in order to be ready to ride at 10:30am.Our anticipated average pace will be in the 22 km/hr range (a little faster on smooth surfaces & a little slower when it is rough).
Bring water and snacks, but at the 1/2 way point we will be passing through Renfrew where food and liquids will be available, if needed.COVID-19 is still a concern so take all personal precautions required, like bringing a mask if you intend to enter any establishment along the way.
