Power BI (data import vs. live connection, row level security)
Hosted by Czech PASS
Details
Let's get back to the Power BI (http://www.powerbi.com) topic! Jiri Neoral will take us a bit deeper into area of data loading, accessing and sharing.
Power BI offers two ways how to connect to data - you can either import them to the cloud or you can have a live connection to Azure, on-premise db etc. Let's take this up to reveal pros and cons of the both approaches.
Another topic we are gonna deep into is the common challenge of securing access to the data. Like a scenario of having one report, but showing different data to different users (e.g. I wanna see data just from my home region and nothing else). This is usually called row-level security. So let's see how Power BI is doing here.
This time will present Jiri Neoral, an experienced expert in Microsoft data platform area. More details about him can be found at http://www.neoral.cz/
Important Note: to respect availability of the presenter we are having this meetup out of our regular schedule - 2nd Wednesday in May
The presentation will be in czech language
Presentation technical level: 200
