Third Public Meeting of Drawdown Markham

We will continue our discussion about Drawdown, this time focusing on actions related to :

• Building a "Drawdown Community Climate Action Hub" (CCAH) in Markham, and the potential for DD Markham to assist in the creation of a Network of CCAH's Regionally (York), across the GTA, and eventually across the Province, Nationally, and even internationally.
• A discussion about how the DD solutions align with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

and continued discussions about:

• The "Beaver Project" Youth-focused Eco-Education / Training Centre
• WE-Energime-GC turtle Island "Global Cooperation Day" Tree planting and Celebration on October 4th, Global Cooperation Day 2019
• Creating Drawdown Youth Club(s)
• The PPSCP concept
• Sustainable Finance initiatives in Toronto
• The UN Decade of Ecosystem Restoration (upcoming from 2021-2030)
• Biochar (initiatives), the CRCN and 4p1000 (France)
• The "Go Local Campaign for community resilience and adaptation"
• Mapping (local) "Sacred Sites" and "Watershed Mapping"

Any other Drawdown and Education / Awareness initiatives that may be done locally... the floor is open to your ideas!

We do not charge a fixed fee, but ask that attendees donate a small amount to help cover the cost of hosting this Meetup group (and build a small fund to help develop a presence in Markham and implement future Drawdown projects locally). Pay what you can.

Please also note that no food or drinks are allowed at this location.

This Meetup is also a follow-up to our organizational meetings on Sunday May 5th and Sunday May 26th.
note: We are still seeking a permanent and publicly accessible venue that allows people to bring food and drinks.*
