Liz Murad: My Conversion From 'Life in the Convent' to Secular Humanism

Ms. Elizabeth Murad
BIO: Liz is a former Catholic nun who took her vows in the Order of the Sisters of St. Felix of Cantalice in 1958. She received her Master's in 'Clinical Social Work' from Rutgers University in the 70's.
Liz murad is an ex-nun who is now an atheistic Humanist~~~and happily, joyfully so! She spent 16 years in religious life, gradually "losing"her faith and gaining the freedom of her own thoughts. Five and a half years after she left the convent, she met and married the love of her life, Jim Murad. He was already a Humanist and together they both formed a professional and a romantic partnership. After 29 years together, Jim started his journey to becoming stardust. Liz sought out other freethinkers and has become actively involved with the Treasure Coast Humanists and the Atheists of the Treasure Coast.
Liz enjoys writing and discussions with other freethinkers. She has led a number of presentations with her local groups. She's also was featured in the December 2011 edition of 'Freethought News', (Freedom From Religion Foundation's newsletter) and also in the AHA online newsletter. Liz lives in Fort pierce with her best friend (and fellow humanist), their two Jack Russel's, two cats.

One of among many is Robert Ingersoll. His writings inspire me, spin my mind and warm my heart. I only wish I could have heard him speak.
