Data & AI Skills Development Initiative Community
The group has been renamed the Data & AI Skills Development Initiative Community, reflecting our mission to bridge the gap between emerging technologies and grassroots communities across Africa.
Our vision is to bring Data Platform and Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies closer to local communities. Being physically rooted in Africa gives us a unique advantage—we are surrounded by a large, vibrant pool of untapped talent in data and AI. This initiative is designed to harness that potential, empower professionals, and unlock opportunities across the continent.
We aim to drive the adoption of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and data technologies, alongside building sustainable capacity, by actively engaging with local tech communities across Africa—particularly in Nigeria, home to over 200 million people. As part of this vision, we are currently implementing a skills development initiative focused on empowering over 5,000 professionals across Africa by 2030. By extending our reach across the continent and fostering collaboration, knowledge sharing, and hands-on engagement, we are building a vibrant ecosystem of skilled professionals who can harness the power of data and AI to drive innovation and accelerate economic growth.
