Social Bicycle Ride

Details
The Design District is turning into one of Dallas' more interesting areas, but did you know you can get to all the top spots on a bike or scooter, without ever riding on Irving Boulevard? Join us for a casual roll through the district, exploring a network of trails and low-traffic streets. We'll look at recent and upcoming bike infrastructure projects in the area, see a few gaps in the network, and take at least one obscure shortcut.
This is a great opportunity to meet fellow urbanists in the neighborhood and enjoy a chill evening on two (or better, 1–10) wheels. We’ll wrap up the ride with some delicious ice cream at Jeni's in Victory Park.
The ride will be roughly 13km/8mi long. Here's the tentative route.
What to Bring
- A bike, scooter, etc. All wheels welcome.
- A helmet
- Lights (recommended, since we'll finish after dark)
Getting there
I'd recommend riding to The Meteor. It's an easy ride from DART Victory Station or the Katy Trail, thanks to the new Hi Line Connector. Here's my recommended route. Zoom in and you'll see bike parking, the blue P with a tiny bike symbol. I'll try to be there by 5:45. Look for the guy with the skateboard.
