Modernising Data and Forecast Management with SDMX and Semantic Standards

Daan will discuss how the Statistical Data and Metadata Exchange (SDMX) standard enables seamless exchange and comprehension of data across diverse datasets. It also supports rapid creation of a central data glossary describing the information necessary to access and interpret data and associated metadata for specific teams or across an institution. Daan will demonstrate how next-generation forecast management enables data and model automation, within a best practice data and model governance framework.

BIO

Dr Daan Steenkamp is CEO of Codera Analytics. He is an econometrician with previous experience at the South African Treasury and central banks of South Africa and New Zealand. Daan also serves on the Statistical Council of South Africa and is associated with the Economics Department of Stellenbosch University as a research fellow. He is an active researcher and writer on a range of policy and macroeconomic questions.
