● Accessible information can quickly become authoritative misinformation. AI can now mine your unstructured "dark data" like contracts and policies at incredible scale 6. But without strict lifecycle controls, an AI system will confidently present an outdated, unauthorised contract as absolute truth 6.

Data management is no longer an "enabling discipline" tucked away in IT; it is the operational foundation that makes trustworthy AI possible 2.
