If you cannot measure where your practice stands, it is difficult to know what needs to change. But a maturity score can create just as many problems as it solves when people start treating the number as the answer.

In Session 2, we introduce the assessment instrument behind the series and explore the thinking behind its design.

We’ll unpack the two pillars of ethical maturity, what each is intended to reveal, and how the instrument distinguishes between activity, evidence and genuine governance capability.

We’ll also tackle one of the most deliberate choices in the framework: why the overall score is withheld.

The goal is not to produce a convenient number for a board pack.

It is to create a structured conversation that helps a named person make a defensible judgement about where the practice really stands.
