Damnei Readers

Time to step from behind the screens and meet in real life! This is the DMV's Danmei Book Club where we will meet up to discuss danmei! What is danmei? It is a Chinese genre of literature and other fictional media that features romantic relationships between male characters. Popular danmei: Heaven Official's Blessing, Mo Dao Zu Shi (Untamed), The Husky and His White Cat Shizun, and Thousand Autumns.

Join our group if you're interested in meeting people with similar unique reading interests. Our main events will be dining at different, tasty restaurants and having a theme-centered discussions. I also want to host viewing parties where we can enjoy the (rare) drama/movie adaption based off our favorite danmei.

What this group is not: a Chinese language support group. Discussions will be conducted in English, though the participation of bilingual members will much appreciated! We're not a Chinese politics group. We're not to bash or be overly critical and negative over Chinese policies and censorship. Be respectful to each other and to the culture and country that produced danmei!
