We're kicking off our new lesson series Tuesday October 6th with Kizomba. All levels dance class at 7pm.

Kizomba, meaning “party” in Kimbundu, is a social dance originating from Angola. Kizomba emerged as an evolution of traditional semba, as the slower rhythms of Antillean zouk music gained popularity in the 1980s. Kizomba is characterized by grounded walking steps, close embrace, and smooth body movement and attitude known as ginga.

There's an afterparty at a private location where you can join our Kizomba fam and practice your new moves with us! BYOB

What to expect:

  • All of our events are beginner friendly and two left feet welcome.
  • No partner? No problem! We rotate in class.
  • We love beginners so don't be shy to ask us to dance!
  • We recommend bringing shoes with non-grippy soles or we have dance socks available for purchase. Your knees will thank you.

Most importantly:
1. Hugs are desired and required for your health and happiness.
2. Remember to breathe
3. Be kind to yourself and others.
4. Give yourself permission to play and make mistakes
5. When in doubt, body wave!
