Newcomers are always warmly welcomed! We love the dances and music of Scotland. Join us for great fun and friendship. We encourage everyone to come try a class anytime! You don't need a partner or Scottish heritage to enjoy this very entertaining form of social dance.
Our classes run from 7:30 to 9:45 p.m. on Wednesdays. In September 2019 we are meeting at the Woman’s Club of Arlington, 700 S. Buchanan Street. Starting in October 2019 we will be at The Athenaeum, 201 Prince Street, in Alexandria, <!— at the Durant Center in Old Town Alexandria, just two blocks from the King Street Metro which is accessible via the Blue and Yellow Lines. There is also available parking on the street and in the lot behind the Center. —>Other groups meet in Bethesda, Greenbelt, Frederick, Baltimore, Charlottesville, and Richmond.
<!—Fall 2018 Introduction to Scottish Country Dance will begin Wednesday, September 5 with a dance party featuring live music!This eight-week beginner's course will ease you into the elegant and lively form of Scottish Country Dancing. Classes will run from Wednesday, September 12 through Wednesday, October 31. Perfect for people with no or limited experience in dance, get ready to enjoy toe-tapping music, good company, and great fun. By the end of the course, new dancers will be familiar with basic Scottish Country Dance steps and formations. Whether you want to set the dance floor on fire or just find a fun way to keep fit, Scottish Country Dance is a great and accessible activity for all ages.
