What we’re about
We're a community for people who LOVE to dance. Find your inner rhythm & get in the flow.
We are a collective of people that have come together to share our love of ecstatic dance. The collective holds dance events that inspire a meditative quality of authenticity and community with genuine sharing of self through dance.
Ecstatic dance is an unstructured dance space which frees you to express your authentic self through dance and movement within a supportive, respectful community. Each dance event is unique; however, it follows a journey with a flowing beginning, into a more vigorous and intense middle, and ending in stillness. You can express playfulness, joy, passion, sadness, release, or whatever needs to be expressed in the dance…or just sweat your cares.
The dance is open to everyone! No partner or dancing ability required - only breath and soul.
Guidelines:
1. No talking on the dance floor (plenty of room to talk off-floor)
2. Drug-free, alcohol-free, smoke-free, kid-friendly environment
3. No photos or videos, cellphones muted and out of sight
4. Care/awareness for the space and each other
5. Move your body however you wish
6. Grief Gathering: A Circle of Remembrance
The Boocherie, 2920 Sutherland Avenue,, Knoxville , TN, USGrief can be many things. Besides the loss of a loved one, we can grieve the paths not taken, the sorrows of the world, the parts of ourselves that have not known love, the loss of our health, ancestral grief. Grief is not linear and shows up when and where we least expect it sometimes.
This will be a safe space to hold and tend our grief as a community. An intention to create a village to help us through challenging times. Come help create that village and let us tend our hearts and souls. Let us learn to walk with our grief, not fix it but instead, let it transform us.
Join us Sunday evening at The Boocherie after business hours. You may bring an item representing your grief to place on a community altar during the gathering. Our grief tenders will offer some guidance to help you own your experience and honor yourself. All are welcome.
You may want to bring tissue, refillable water bottle, journal, floor cushion (but please no yoga mats).
Space is limited; Kindly register in advance here: https://forms.gle/GcSXRGRyQHz6iodGA
This is a donation based gathering ~ $loveoffering. And in order to respect the tenderness of the grieving process, no new entry will be permitted after 6:50 pm when the grief tending process will have started.
