Come celebrate 15 years of Ecstatic Dance in Knoxville! It's our "dance-aversary" this month.

Our third Friday dance wave will include a community potluck dinner at 6 pm, also at the church. Please bring an item to share!

Amanda will facilitate a warm-up at 7 pm focused on creating connection and greater sense of community before our opening circle.

The wave will be an extended mix offering a retrospective of a few of the many songs that we have danced through over the years - culled from each of our mix makers dating back to some of our first dances.

Doors Open at 6 pm for Potluck
Community Warm-up at 7 pm with Amanda
Opening Circle at 7:20 pm
Doors will be locked by 7:45 pm

This lowly lit dance wave is held in the Sanctuary of the Tennessee Valley Unitarian Universalist Church on Kingston Pike in Knoxville.

An ecstatic dance, or dance wave, is a meditative movement practice where music is used as the guide. There is no "Dance" choreography -- rather it's a practice in which people learn to listen to and work with their own body, moving as little (including not at all) or as much as wanted. It helps release tensions and often helps people work through emotions and stressors. It's family friendly and suitable for all ages and body types and body abilities. We are very inclusive.

No "dance" experience is necessary. This is a free-form, somatic, meditative practice where every breath is movement.

Please bring a dish to share and plenty of water to stay hydrated.

Sliding Scale $10-25 (Cash or PayPal at the door)
