What we’re about
TL;DR - My wife and I (42, 38) recently moved to the area, I have an arcade with Stepmania (DDR) in my garage, I know no one, I'm an introvert, so I'm trying to be the introverted hermit hero Darien needs.
I enjoy hosting events, I plan on posting specifics later. I'd like to meet some locals with some similar interest who can help me play these games. I built it, and they did not come. The social circle info have, who attend regularly, are 30-40s. While that is the general age range, anyone 21+ is welcome if they don't mind the elder nerds.
Group Goals: The groups goal will be building a space for socializing for everyone, there will be no drinking or use of drugs until I've begun feeling out the events. We'll have areas for active social participation, quiet social interaction and a variety of other fun things to pass the time; video games, board games or sharing your favorite, shameful YouTube trash. We're aiming to have enough variety of things going on that individuals can easily find conversation. To make the night additionally easy for introverts, we'll staple some kind of special colored ear tags to us, signaling, "please come talk to me" along with others.
Hoping To Meet: We're hoping to introduce people to other people that may be difficult to meet in this exact area. I'm passionate about creating inviting spaces with various options for the social interaction. I'd love to meet other adults looking to take steps towards making real connections in the area. EAlach gathering is always pro-LBGTQAI+, supportive of altervTive lifestyles and we refuse to sell wedding cakes to MAGA.
Wat Do: We'll have plenty of various comfy seating (25-30 people minimum), an entertainment area in the garage for more active socializing, a separate quiet room upstairs for any overwhelm, anxiety or other neurodivergence needs (such as ours), and the home overall is lit in soft light, candles with pillows and blankets everywhere, a great space large enough to converse or observe.
If you may be interested, please join and follow the group so I could begin getting an estimate as to how many locals would potentially attend. If you have any suggestions, I'm open to those as well.
