What we're about

The Dashing Whippets Running Team may be a newcomer to Boston, but we're no newcomer to the sport of running. With a wide variety of running goals, we find unity in recognizing and appreciating our differences and in our mutual enjoyment of running and participating in the Boston area running community and beyond. We host group runs open to runners of all experience and ability levels and provide training plans for a variety of local races. Whatever your running or fitness goals, we welcome you to come run with us.

Cambridge Speed Workout - Getting back on (the) track!

Henry G. Steinbrenner Stadium

Come join us for our weekly evening track workout at the MIT Outdoor Track! We'll be doing some speed intervals together plus short warm-up and cool-down runs to bookend them. Don't worry about how fast you are; all are welcome.

We'll be generally following the NY Dashing Whippets Training plans (new Boston Marathon oriented plan to be posted soon): https://www.dashingwhippets.org/training/. Feel free to adjust or come with your own workout in mind for where you're at in your training cycle!

Whippets Weekend Run - Clemente Field

Clemente Field

After a successful pilot "Return to Run", we are excited to continue with Whippets Weekend Runs! The health and security of our community continues to be our priority, so there are still a few additional considerations that are very important in order to participate:

***TO PARTICIPATE IN THIS RUN, PLEASE 1. RSVP TO THIS EVENT, 2. READ THE RETURN TO RUN GUIDELINES, 3. READ & SIGN THE LIABILITY WAIVER, 4. MEMORIZE OR PRINT THE ROUTES. IF YOU DO NOT COMPLETE ALL FOUR STEPS, YOU WILL NOT BE PERMITTED TO JOIN THE GROUP RUN***

1. RSVP TO THIS EVENT ON MEETUP

2. RETURN TO RUN GUIDELINES
- All participants must sign an updated waiver (this includes returning runners who have signed earlier versions of our waiver)
- Masks are no longer required, in compliance with local guidelines
- We continue to promote social distancing and suggest that physical contact (i.e., fist bumping, high fives) be minimized
- All runners must sign-in (can be through an RSVP on meet-up) for contract tracing purposes
- Before attending any run, runners should answer the following questions; any runner that answers yes to any question should stay home:
-- Have you exhibited any signs or symptoms of COVID-19 in the past seven days?
-- Have you had any close sustained contact with anyone with a confirmed COVID-19 infection in the past 14 days?
-- Have you had any international travel, travel to an area highly affected by Covid-19, or traveled on a cruise ship, within the past 14 days?
- Finally, use common sense

3. READ & SIGN THE LIABILITY WAIVER (only necessary once)
- Please e-sign this waiver: https://forms.gle/PHPgaFBASfbrMVmz8

4. MEMORIZE OR PRINT/UPLOAD THE ROUTES
- We will do our best to post the routes by Thursday EOD. Since we will be in smaller groups, it will be important for you to have a handle on the routes. We will have a shorter route (5-7 miles) and longer route (10-15 miles). Runners are welcome to peel off to modify the routes to meet their needs as always, however, please give the pod you're running with a heads up.
- Please also pay attention to the new meeting locations, as we are trying to find socially distant outdoor venues amenable to the group's needs.

If you have any questions, please add comments to this MeetUp in case others have the same questions. If you would like to ask your question in private, please message one of the run hosts through the MeetUp app.
