What we're about

The Dashing Whippets Running Team is starting up a Westchester group! We are a New York City based team with another chapter in Boston. Members of the Westchester group will be members of the New York City chapter with all of the benefits that come along with it (organized training plans, online discussion groups and training tips, team discounts, and more).

Through January 9th we will be hosting a Wednesday workout at 6:00pm from the Briarcliff Manor Public Library; after January 9th the workouts will be held on Mondays at 6:00pm for the remainder of the winter season. More details are posted in the weekly Meetups. Runs are geared towards helping runners train for races at distances from 5k all the way up to marathon. Look for occasional weekend runs at Rockefeller State Park as well!

Monday night workout

At The Briarcliff Libary Parking Lot

Our weekday training workouts are typically tempo runs, intervals, or hill repeats. The meeting spot is the Briarcliff Public Library parking lot at 6pm. There we'll give the full workout details, including distance and pacing groups. You can expect a typical workout to be between 5 and 8 miles, which will incorporate a warmup and cooldown (approximately one mile for each). Looking forward to some great workouts!

Saturday run at Rockefeller State Park

Sleepy Hollow High School

The Dashing Whippets Westchester chapter will be holding a weekend long run at Rockefeller State Park on Saturday, March 30nd! We will meet at the back of the Sleepy Hollow High School parking lot by the baseball field at 8:30am (adjacent to the entrance for the Old Croton Aqueduct). For any NYC Whippets who will be coming up on the train, there is a 7:45am train from Grand Central that get gets to the Tarrytown station at 8:24am. We can arrange to pick you up from the station if you let us know in advance by RSVPing to this event AND commenting that you would like a ride. Otherwise, it is a 1 mile run from the train station to the meeting point (a map of the 1 mile route is posted in the photos section). Just let us know if you're running up so that we know to wait for you. Either way, you can leave any bags, clothing, etc. in one of our cars. Our run options are normally between 7-10 miles. Runners are welcome to start earlier and/or add on afterwards to meet their own needs. Please post your expected distance and pace that you would like to run in the comment section so that we can plan accordingly. Thanks and see you on the 30th!
