  • We will meet at 7pm doing warmup laps around the track followed by drills and introductions. The workout should begin around 7:15-7:30. If this is your first time keep an eye out for a runner(s) wearing a Whippet shirt. If you need to lock up a bag there are lockers available at the facility but we were informed by management that men's locker room is susceptible to theft whereas the women's locker room is not. Any men on the team should seek out one of our female members to assist in locking up a bag in their locker room when arriving at the track.

    Thursday, 2/09:
    Short speedwork day: 20-minute warmup, including jogging/drills/strides, then...

    Short distance (5K-15K): 3-4 repeats of 1600m at 10K pace with 400m jogging recovery between them. Optionally, add 2-4 repeats of 200m at mile pace, with 200m jog between them. Finish by jogging 20 minutes to cool down..

    Spring marathoners and NYC Half specialists: 4 repeats of 2000m at 15K pace with 2:00 jogging recovery between them. Finish with a 20-minute cooldown.

    Runners who are building a base: 3-4 repeats of 800m at 10K pace with 400m jogging recovery between them. Finish with a 15-minute cooldown.
