A cloud platform should enable a rapid speed to market for applications, while offering continuous availability of those applications. This is a technical talk is for those that use or are interested in the MySQL database as a service capabilities offered by the Cloud Foundry platform.

We will highlight the latest updates to the MySQL Database as a service that now includes high availability capabilities. The discussion will walk through the technology that enables this service, as well as how developers can easily self-provision this service.

About the speaker: Marco Nicosia is a Product Manager for Cloud Foundry at Pivotal. He has been working with large-scale deployments since the 90s, starting at Inktomi, an early search engine. He was an early technical leader in the PaaS industry while at Engine Yard, serving clients such as Groupon, New Relic and Bleacher Report. Marco has worked on large sites including Walmart.com, Yahoo! Search and BeatsByDre.com. Additionally, he was an early member of the Hadoop team at Yahoo!
