SF: Hands-on Learning with Apache Geode (incubating) & Hackathon Kickoff for POSH Members and In-Memory Computing Summit Attendees

Apache Geode is the newly open sourced engine that powers Pivotal GemFire. At this special Meetup we unveil the details of a virtual hackathon for building amazing applications with Apache Geode. We'll provide a hands-on training and tutorial to help attendees get a quick start in becoming an Apache Geode developer. Work with the founding contributors and experts and walk away with a running cluster for your future work.
Details of Hands-on Tutorial:
• Introduction to Apache Geode
• How to set up Apache Geode using Gradle and Docker
• Installation lab
• Starting a cluster
• Building a sample app in Java

Prerequisites:
- You must bring your own computer
- You must have enough programming knowledge in Java or another language to utilize REST API's
The hands-on component of this event is first-come, first-served for 30 people--the first 30 RSVPs in the meetup.com will have priority and no-shows will be back-filled with the next registered person.
