At about 6:30pm, Richard Burg (http://linkedin.com/in/richard-burg-163893120), a data scientist, entrepreneur and startup founder at 1776, will talk about his work with data and offer lessons, pointers and tips on the use of data for journalists from a data science perspective and with a focus on the use of data for science vs. reporting. Richard's career includes research and leadership positions at NASA and the CIA.
You will also have the opportunity to present on your project’s progress. Nothing formal, simply to share with the group any roadblocks, questions or need for assistance. Please post anything related to your presentation on the #projects Slack channel before the meetup.
