Welcome to another DSPT meetup at Porto! This time we have an event tailored towards beginners and entry-level practitioners and those that wish a pivot into a Data Science carreer.
Join us, at Founders Founders Porto Oriental, for a discussion about the first steps towards a career in Data Science. From the very beginning to how to progress from entry level roles.
To start this discussion and share their experience and expertise we will have the 3 following panellists:
Bio:
I'm the Head of AI Engineering at Sword Health. By fundamentally reinventing how patients access and receive care, we’re pioneering a more human, more clinically effective, and more scalable way to treat patients.
Currently I'm focused on growing the AI team at Sword Health and developing, deploying and iterating on ML systems that help to support and scale our mission of freeing 2 million people from pain.
I did my Master's degree in Biomedical Engineering at FEUP and completed my Master Thesis at INESC Tec.
Bio:
Helping businesses adopting AI. More than 12 years of hands-on experience in Data Mining and Machine learning. PhD in Computer Science in the University of Leiden (Netherlands). Worked in different ML fields such as: NLP, Computer Vision, Time-series, Data Mining (Spatio-Temporal mining, Subgroup Discovery), Recommender Systems and Preference Learning.
Bio:
Ivo is the Lead Data Scientist at Jumia and a Computer Vision Researcher, as part of his PhD Studies. Additionally, Ivo imparts knowledge as a College Professor at ISAG, blending industry expertise with academic mentorship (thank you chat gpt).
