We're continuing our 10-year celebrations at Feedzai with a technical talk, followed by networking and bites.
Lessons Learned from Optimizing a Spark Streaming Pipeline
João António | Stratio
João will share how his team tackled reliability issues and higher-than-expected compute usage in a Spark Streaming pipeline that ingests device telemetry into a lakehouse.
The work also exposed architectural choices that downstream systems had come to depend on. He'll discuss the fixes, partitioning strategies, metadata management and flexible table formats, with practical lessons on investigating similar problems and planning refactors without breaking dependent systems.
This is an extended version of his Data Makers Fest talk, with more time for technical details and questions.
