Can you find the real data hidden in the fake?
DSPT turns 10 this year, and we’re closing it with our first-ever AI Innovation Marathon, together with INE (Statistics Portugal). It’s one week working on a real data challenge from official statistics, with prizes for the best teams.
The challenge
INE makes synthetic copies of its data on Portuguese companies and workers. They look real enough for researchers to use, but they’re built to protect the people and companies in the original data.
Your mission is to find where the synthetic data still gives the real data away, and to show INE how to fix it 🛠️

Data scientists, statisticians, ML engineers, privacy researchers and students. If you like data, privacy or breaking things so they can be made safer, this one’s for you.
