Presentation: Geospatial Data Visualization with Melanie Imfeld

Details
We often tend to think that map makers engage in an unquestionably "scientific" or "objective" form of knowledge creation. However, in order to make meaningful relationships visible, a map has to provide a selective view of reality. In this Meetup, we will hear about map attributes, such as map projections, generalization and map symbols and we will discuss the relevance of these attributes in a geopolitical and cultural context.
