### 2026-10-25 Invitation: Leadership’s Duty to Act.
The greater the authority an institution claims over another person's life, the greater its Duty of Candor[1] concerning the evidence supporting that authority.
Church Leadership has disclosed in the Gospel Topics Essays and by its quiet revisions to the Book of Mormon (BofM), and by President Nelson’s demonstration (0:51) of how the BofM was produced, that leadership knows and acknowledges a great many of the discrediting actions taken by Joseph Smith. This knowledge cannot responsibly be ignored without being guilty of negligence, a knowing failure of duty to act. When silence maintains a falsehood, silence itself becomes deceit. This is the textbook definition of dereliction of duty.
The discussion topic on Sunday 25th will be: What actions do Members of the Davis County Ex-Mormon Meetup Group recommend top LDS Church leadership is duty bound to take in order to avoid the dereliction of duty charge? What additional knowledge falls within their Duty of Candor? What actions are required?
