Grant Park Post Autumn Solstice Monday Night Headlamp Hike - Social Distancing
Details
This past Tuesday it was officially Autumn! Time for night hikes, cooler weather and other fun seasonal stuff (like corn mazes and hay rides and such). But for Monday night we'll just keep it simple with a sunset to night hike. It's time to get out your headlamps or flashlights and make sure the batteries as still good. You're going to need them. And yes, as of this writing, it's looking like Monday is going to be yet another beautiful evening for a hike! By the time we meet, the temperature will be in the upper 60s, so you may also want to dress a bit warmer for this hike since it looks like it will be in the low 60s by the time our hike ends. We will hike approximately 3 - 4 miles at about 2.8 - 3 miles per hour. You will want to bring your trekking poles since the trail is moderately rugged in some places, there are a few downed trees that we'll climb over, and it will get dark while we're hiking. There are also some tree roots sticking up in various places. Please no guests on this hike. Everyone needs a Dayton Hiker profile to hike.
